I had meetings on Saturday and Sunday but Sunday afternoon we carved out some family time. What could be better than a festival?! Well it wasn't really a festival but I'm not sure what else to call it. There were several kid friendly rides, cotton candy & funnel cakes. As far as I'm concerned, that's a festival!
Reese's favorite thing in the whole wide world is the Merry Go Round. We sent Papa for some tickets only to realize very quickly that when "companions" were required for her height, "companions" also had to have tickets. I thought it was a complete rip off and thought about complaining until I saw the guy running the ticket booth.
After her 1st ride on the Merry Go Round we headed toward the Wiggle Worm. This looks like a nice ride that goes around on a track fairly slowly. Well true to its name, shortly after the carts start moving they shake all over the place. I almost crushed Reese on several occasions because I couldn't get my booty to stay in one place. We became the wiggle worms! As soon as it stopped she looked at me and said "more" while making the sign for "more" with her hands (she knows very limited sign language). One look at that sweet face and Papa headed back to the booth for more tickets.
We had to ride the Merry Go Round a second time and the Wiggle Worm again too! After each one she said "more" and made the sign with her hands. It was so cute! As we were leaving, with a quick stop for a bag of cotton candy to go, she started crying "more", "more".
This is the best part. We loaded up and headed across the street so Papa could pick up a few books. On our way out Reese, the smart cookie that she is, noticed the Festival was just across the street. She took off and I know in her little mind she thought "if I can make it across this parking lot I can get to the Merry Go Round...just a bit further"!! What she didn't realize is there was a 4 lane, busy street she had to cross first. That and she didn't have any money for tickets. Enjoy the pics!
