When I put Pie to bed for her nap, we read one of her new books (chosen by her from the Scholastic catalog - I remember doing that when I was little!) and I promised her we would finally carve a pumpkin. In her world that means "scoop the goop"! Ha!
Since we have at least eight pumpkins on the front porch and Halloween is just around the corner it was high time we got busy. Pie picked her favorite "pumpkin face" from the stencil book and we got to work. Juddy did the tracing and cut the big hole. Pie & I did the fun part - scoop the goop! I don't know why I love it so much - maybe it's cathartic to scoop and scrape until the inside of the pumpkin is completely goop free. I'm sure a therapist would have a hay day with that one.
Our pumpkin is now ready to do its job...or serve its purpose...although I'm not quite sure what either one of those are!
The front porch is ready for Halloween!
Is this what I use to scoop the goop?!
"There's goop in there!!!!"
So goopy - I'm gonna get you!
"No mommy, I'm going to get you!"
Finished product - I've never kept a pumpkin inside and I'm not sure why. This is genius!

My first year having a pumpkin inside too. Weird, huh? It's so much better! Looks like you guys had a blast, I love the facial expressions. Your house looks adorable with all those pumpkins. Did Miss Reese dress up? Would love to see pictures of that!
