Gobble, Gobble

Well Juddy said it best "Gobble, gobble, bobble & wobble"! That's exactly how I felt on Friday. I'm still slowly coming out of my casserole coma. I've decided my favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving is definitely the casserole: green bean casserole, cream corn casserole, squash casserole, cornbread casserole and the list goes on. I feel like Forest Gump and his shrimp.

This was our second Thanksgiving with our most precious gift - Reese. Last year she was a little bitty weewoe who could only keep her eyes open for about 2 minutes at a time. This year, she was ALL over the place...chasing cats & dogs, searching for her lost bear, eating dog food, shredding tissue, emptying her diaper bag just as soon as I picked everything up. It was such a joy to watch her. I think that's the only thing I accomplished; watching our little girl was delightful. She's really trying to talk so each hour brings a new sound. And you know when it's "not nice". You can hear the tone and see the sass in her eyes. She IS her mom's daughter.

This holiday flew by and I must confess that I have yet to sit down and give proper thanks. It's embarassing but I am a child of the One who loves me regardless. I find myself saying a little prayer of thanks for the most random things nowadays. Reese has been under the weather and it's funny what you are thankful for. I'm thankful that her congestion is working its way out and she can breathe through her nose again. I'm thankful that when she took a spill this afternoon, she put her hands down in the nick of time. I'm thankful that she's tough and loving at the same time. I'm thankful that she loves me and shows me daily. I'm thankful for each "squeeze" and every kiss she blows my way. I'm thankful for her belly laugh when I tickle her feet. I'm thankful that God saw Juddy & I fit enough to entrust us with such a perfect little girl. I'm thankful God is teaching me daily through her.

I'm thankful for a husband who loves me beyond words. I'm thankful for his character and integrity. I'm thankful for his intelligence and thirst for knowledge. I'm thankful for his smile - goodness I love that smile! I'm thankful he is the father of my child - a father who loves and disciplines, who plays wholeheartedly & values quiet time with his daughter.

I'm thankful for our families who would give us the shirt off of their back. Our families are wonderful to us. I'm thankful for friends we can count on in good times and bad. I'm thankful for girlfriends who provide my life with so much laughter and joy.

I'm thankful for a God who sent his one and only son to save me. I'm thankful for a God who protects me, provides peace, blesses me, gives without expecting in return, restores my soul & loves me unconditionally.

For all of these things I give thanks.

Love for Gram
