As Reese & I were perusing our neighborhood Walmart for event supplies I happened upon an end cap. You all know what I'm talking about. The place where they put "new" products or "newly redesigned" products to entice us to spend more money. Well today the skies parted, a light shown down and the angels started singing the Hallelujah Chorus. There on the end cap sat a lovely vintage looking blue box filled with deliciouness...Limited Edition Candy Cane Creme Oreos!!! Can we all pause for a moment of silence? Thank you.
One of my most favorite things only comes once a year. That favorite thing is peppermint ice cream that I load up with crushed, Double Stuffed Oreos. It is heaven in a glass (yes I eat my ice cream from a glass not a bowl). Last year there was a peppermint ice cream shortage and I nearly went into withdrawls.
Now I know that Oreos can be a splurge whether it be bad for your diet or hard on your pocket book. However, these baby's are worth it! My curiosity got the best of me as I was loading the trunk and I thought to myself, I'll just try one out on the way home. Well 6 cookies later I was in my driveway and thanking my lucky stars that I didn't live farther from Wally.
I encourage one and all to go out and buy a box. I've already called in the reinforcements to pick up 3 additional boxes on the way home tonight. If there is a peppermint ice cream shortage this year, I will not go without! I will have the heavenly tasting, loaded with deliciousness Candy Cane Creme Oreos. Wow - I think we need another moment of silence!

You totally sound like me. There's not too many of us that talk about a cookie like it's a soulmate. Sounds like your cookies were love at first sight. I am so excited for you, and just ask that I'm invited to the wedding. Also, let me know the details on that peppermint ice cream. I think I want to crush the candycane cookies into peppermint icecream. Holiday overload on the tastebuds. Can I get a Hallelujah?
